Ptarmigan existed as a project space in Vallila from 2009-2011 and a mobile curatorial/creative platform until 2014. We no longer exist as an organised collective, but this website will continue to serve as an archive of the activities produced as/at Ptarmigan during these years.
Join us at the Art Container on Sunday 9th June between 12-3:30pm for a collaborative investigation by Ptarmigan Helsinki co-dierectors (James Andean, Sari T.M. Kivinen, Amal Laala, and Marek Pluciennik). The collaboration will be based on traces left from the previous days of activity at the art container.
At 4pm Rebeca Clamp will present a concert. Rebecca Clamp is a singer songwriter pianist originally from Cambridge (UK) but now living in Finland. Noted for her passionate voice and idiosyncratic piano playing, she has a style which is entirely her own. Rebecca’s quirky lyrics examine the everyday from unusual perspectives: she draws you into a world where mobile phones run away to join nunneries and bearded female saints appear at five in the morning to give you advice on your love life. Her lyrical world is rich with the minutiae of life; insects, origami boats, smiles, and cigarette smoke in a beams of light all flicker through her songs. http://folkwit.com/artists/rebecca-clamp
