Ptarmigan existed as a project space in Vallila from 2009-2011 and a mobile curatorial/creative platform until 2014. We no longer exist as an organised collective, but this website will continue to serve as an archive of the activities produced as/at Ptarmigan during these years.
During his two month residency at Ptarmigan, Karl Larsson collected not only unique items of trash from all around Tallinn but also captured (with his camera) various points of view on local waste management.
Karl's two day workshop contains both practical and theoretical parts. Participants will have an opportunity to creatively re-use the extraordinary pieces of waste collected by Karl, discuss issues and information gathered by him, and figure out if waste is an art (or maybe art is a waste).
All you need to participate is to prepare yourself to face three containers of trash (so wear working clothes and gloves) and to reserve time between 10:00 and 18:00 on 16 - 17 November.
