Ptarmigan is no longer operating in Helsinki.

Ptarmigan existed as a project space in Vallila from 2009-2011 and a mobile curatorial/creative platform until 2014. We no longer exist as an organised collective, but this website will continue to serve as an archive of the activities produced as/at Ptarmigan during these years.

Lauhkeat Lampaat = the brothers Tolvi, Antti and Jaakko, one half of Rauhan Orkesteri, also active in a plethora of explosive sound bubbles (Mohel, Kiila, etc.). They deliver unyielding swells of breath and rhythm, energetic headbutting while handholding, and post-Brown Rice cosmic consciousness. With an upcoming tour of China planned for Antti, we may see two solo pieces tonight, but who knows?

Gail Priest is an Australian sound artist. Her practice involves sound design/composition for performance, installation and live laptop-based exploratory music. She is also a curator, writer and commentator on sound and new media arts. More information and music at http://www.gailpriest.net/

Lapin, also known as Julian Parker, brings his Stoke-via-Edinburgh sound to Ptarmigan.
